The American Club resort-hotel, now on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1918 as a boarding house for immigrants working in the Kohler factory. In 1981 the Tudor-style building was converted to one of the most luxurious resort hotels in the Midwest. That you'll most likely always remember the bathroom is a compliment to the Kohler family.
