Pronghorn, An Auberge Resort
Resort Overview
Pronghorn, An Auberge Resort in Bend is tucked away amongst some of the oldest juniper forests in the world and surrounded by the snow-topped Cascade Mountains. While this resort has plenty to offer, it is known for being one of the Pacific Northwest's most popular golfing destinations. Both Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio saw the beautiful setting as the perfect backdrop for a round of golf. The Nicklaus Course is a challenging links design that will require good strategy but is also eminently playable for all skill levels. Both courses take advantage of the stunning landscape, incorporating the lava rock outcroppings and water features as well as taking advantage of the stunning mountain views. The Fazio Course is home to one of the most unique holes in the world, the par-3 eighth. This dramatic hole plays across a 45-foot canyon and also features an exposed lava tube. If you're not a golfer, there is still plenty to do in Central Oregon. The resort is only three hours from the coast and the foothills of the Cascade Mountains provide beautiful opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. Adventurers can try tackling Smith Rock, which has world-famous climbing routes or you can spend the afternoon fishing or game hunting on the Metolius or Deschutes Rivers. Nearby Mt. Bachelor also has skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. For a more relaxed getaway, the resort has a luxurious spa with treatments that combine Eastern and Western practices.
