Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort
Resort Overview
The Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort is located in historic Chandler, Ariz., a southeastern suburb of Phoenix. The resort was built in 1912 and is designed to meet the needs of both the vacationer and the business traveler. Located near East Valley corporate office parks, the resort touts itself as "the place to meet" in Chandler with a large pavilion, courtyards and elegant ballrooms. Regarded as "The Silicon Desert" for its high-tech manufacturing, Chandler is one of the five fastest-growing cities in the country. In downtown Chandler, visitors will find many unique shops, restaurants and a performing arts center. If the local offerings don't hold your interest, Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale are near by. Back at the San Marcos resort, guests can use the golf course, tennis courts and a large heated swimming pool. Two restaurants, two lounges and more than 35,000 square feet of meeting space are also available. The 18-hole, 6,626-yard San Marcos Golf Course opened in 1913 and was seeded with Bermuda grass, making it the first Arizona golf course with grass greens. The layout is fairly straight forward and isn't your typical desert course with a lush, green setting.
